Avon Park Depot Museum

Located in Highlands County and built in 1926 by the Seaboard Airline Railroad Company, the trail contains scrapbooks, photographs, uniforms, and other artifacts related to WWII activities in Avon Park. The train station served thousands of passengers until closing in 1976. Guided and self-guided tours are frequently in progress throughout the museum.

Biscayne National Park

Prepare to have fun at Biscayne National Park. This protected reserve features glass-bottom canoe, snorkeling, see underwater videos, and indoor exhibits. 

Caladesi Island State Park

Located on Florida's west coast, the park allows for boating, fishing, hiking, camping, wildlife viewing, and swimming. The park also includes picnic areas and a playground. 

Cayo Costa State Park

Offering nine miles of beaches, pine forests, oak-palm hammocks, and mangrove swamps, this barrier island park is located on the Gulf Coast. The state park is only accessible by private boat or ferry. Visitors may see manatees, dolphins, and birds. On the island, visitors can swim, snorkel, hike, off-road biking, and saltwater fish.

Coral Castle Museum

Visitors can tour the Coral Castle using audio stands, with narration available in English, Spanish, French or German. The museum also offers guided tours. "Features of the Coral Castle Museum include a 9-ton gate that moves with just a touch of the finger, a Polaris telescope and functioning rocking chairs – all made entirely of stone." Devil's Den

This crystal-clear, underground spring, scuba diving site, is located in Williston. The 72-degree water provides year round fun.  The cave provides a home to extinct animal fossils dating back to the Pleistocene Age.

Everglades National Park

America's Everglades, United States largest subtropical wilderness provides habitat for numerous rare and endangered species like the manatee, American crocodile, and the Florida panther. The park offers boating, camping, canoeing, and much more. 

Falling Waters State Park

With enormous trees and Florida's highest waterfall, this state park provides visitors with an amazing experience.  Visitors can see the beautiful butterfly garden, swim in the lake, camp, and hike. Park rangers host interpretive programs in the amphitheater. 

Highlands County State Park

Opening to the public in 1931, Highlands Hammock was during the Great Depression. Visitors may drive or hike and observe alligators, birds, and other wildlife. Visitors may bike the scenic three-mile loop drive, picnicking, bird-watch, and participate in ranger-guided tours.

John's Pass Village & Boardwalk

Located on the waterfront at Johns Pass in Pinellas County, this fishing village offers shopping, dining, dolphin watching, parasailing and jet skiing, and much more. 

Lake Placid Murals

The Mural Gallery in housed in the Chamber Building. The free 9-minute film explains the creation of the Mural Society and how the murals are selected, painted, and maintained.  

Old Spanish Sugar Mill and Fountain of Youth

Visitors may enjoy the Eco-System of the St. John’s River and a tour. The tour begins telling the tale of these “healing waters”. According to The Old Spanish Sugar Mill website, it is said that Ponce De Leon discovered his famed Fountain of Youth here. In the tour, you will also learn about legends, facts, and the folk history.
The park offers hiking, swimming in a spring pool, fishing, picnicking, see wildlife, kayak, canoe, or paddleboat.

Ravine Gardens State Park

The park has two ravines with steep banks. According to Florida State Parks Ravine Gardens, in 1933, the ravine was transformed into a dramatic garden by the federal Works Progress Administration. A 1.8-mile paved road winds around the ravine, offering motorists and bicyclists a view of the gardens.

Sanibel Island

Sanibel Island is a barrier island located on the Golf Coast. The island offers visitors beaches, the Darling National Wildlife Refuge, the Sanibel Lighthouse, and Sanibel Historical Village. The beautiful beaches are known for their seashells, as many get washed up on shore.

Siesta Key

Relax and dine in the beautiful beaches at Siesta Key. The Gulf Coast waters stretch all along it. Their new amenities include a promenade connecting the east to west providing pedestrians with access to and from Beach Road, restaurants, and concession area. 


Solomon's Castle

Hidden away in Ona, this castle offers galleries and workshops. Visitors may tour and see stained glass windows, metal sculptures, and a lot more. 

St. Augustine

St. Augustine is a city in the southeastern United States. The oldest European-established city in the United States was founded in 1565 by the Spanish explorer, Pedro Menéndez de Avilés Florida's first governor. St. Augustine is packed with history.
